Hunger Moon - Ol' Fire Song

This song was co-written with Scott Parrish in the winter of 2010 on the front porch of our old house called Grandma's House. That winter was awfully cold because Grandma's house didn't have heating except for a fireplace in the living room. The comfort of that fireplace was the sketch of the song which turned eventually into an on going metaphor about the unity of the human spirit and the general comforting self-realization that the vast complex struggles all humans face are not alone.....or something like that. Think what you want about it.

lyrics

Watching that old fire burn, dancing flames they swish and turn its all nothing in the end. I can see the light in the back of your eyes turn into smoke as it touches the skys, we're all nothing in the end. I can feel your heart and it's close to mine building a fire now it takes time I can't promise it won't burn us again. Who's to say where we go when these flames they take control stars are made of skeletons.
